Bahir Dar Water and Sewerage Service (BDWSS) provides water from three high-yield springs—Tekur Wuha, Lomi, and Arekie—and thirty-four boreholes, producing an estimated 23 million cubic meters of water annually.

Sewerage Services
Bahir Dar city currently does not have a dedicated Fecal Sludge Treatment Plant, resulting in the disposal of fecal sludge at an open dumping site called "Koshe," situated on the outskirts of town. The Bahir Dar Water and Sewerage Service (BDWSS) is nearing the completion of the tendering process for constructing a new treatment facility.
Currently, BDWSS operates one vacuum truck for sludge collection, while private operators manage around ten additional trucks within the city.

The Customer Service Department of BDWSS operates primarily out of four branch offices. The main office oversees directives and handles customer complaints that cannot be resolved at the branch level.
